...to continue
They continued to monitor the his levels...Monday night was an okay night. Tuesday morning they informed us he had RSV, which is a virus that just has to run its course. This is onto of the pneumonia. So as Tuesday continued they played with his bi-pap settings. When he was getting agitated his oxygen levels would continue to drop so they would have to play with them some more. They started him on some medicine to make him "happy" and help with the agitation. This has helped in many ways.

Yesterday (Wednesday) they placed a PICC line and an ND tube. The ND tube is so they feed him as with the bi-pap you can not eat with it on. This has been good as he was saying he was hungry...not something you always hear from him. His chest x-rays continue to improve. Last night was a rough night in that he could not get comfortable. They have increased his "happy" medicine some more this morning and have been doing some chest PT with a vest which he seems to like and tolerate. They are hoping to continue to decrease his bi-pap to see how he will do off of it.

One step at a time and hoping to continue to make positive ones.

Dear Marci and Brian,
Thanks for the detailed update on Ian. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love, Miriam Foss

Sounds like he is moving in the right direction! I don't blame him for getting agitated! All that stuff is such a drag, bi-pap, Picc line etc. We are praying that soon he will be less hooked up and back at home. I was in the class today and his presence there is missed. I know the hospital environment can be so draining, so stay strong and remember to take a break when you can. Sending positive thoughts your way, Lara Wynne
