Friday, December 23rd
Late
yesterday, last night and today have been moving along in the right
direction. They have been playing with Ian's oxygen levels but his
inhale and exhale levels on the bi-pap are down. They are hoping to have
his oxygen levels down to 30% and then give him a break from the bi-pap
and just put him on a regular oxygen mask for 30 minutes to see how he
does. He is still eating with his ND tube and not complaining of being
hungry any more. His chest x-ray continues to show improvement. Brian
brought his wheel chair up to the hospital today and we are hoping to
get him up and sitting in it for a little bit. I have come home for the
after noon as I promised Becca I would get her off the school bus and
take her to buy Ian a present. So we are going to head out to do that
soon. I will have dinner with her, while Brian has dinner at the hospital with his parents. Sometime later tonight, we will make the
switch and I will go back to the hospital for the night while Brian
comes home.
We are most likely looking at 3-5 more days in the PICU as they can not transfer Ian to a regular room until he is back to his baseline or they have established a new baseline...
Thank you to everyone, especially our parents, Nana, Pop, Nana and Pop-Pop for all you are doing to help us get through this. Pop..don't worry you are the 1st one to come visit when Ian is home...
All of the messages, text messages and emails are wonderful...hugs and kisses to all.
