December 24, 2011, It's Brian posting, shocker I know

Well, as you all know and are well aware, Ian is slowly making some good progress towards recovery except for the happenings early this morning. But knowing Ian as well as we all do, he is a stubborn little boy and gets agitated and angry very fast. Therefore, this little set back was just something to work through. The hardest part of this whole thing is trying to keep him constantly comfortable in bed considering he has been in it for however many days now. The second biggest obstacle is trying to understand him through the bipap mask but we eventually figure it out.

The main reason for my post because you all know I don't handle things like this is to send out a truly heartfelt thanks to everyone for all your love and support you have all given all of us, not only this past week but just throughout the years. Our life with Ian has of course not only been blessed just with his presence, as well as Becca's, but it has certainly come with obstacles. None of which anyone could have foreseen or would have wanted. But we take the good with the bad and if this is the first truly bad issue then we will take it.

But my point here, again, is to send out my own thank you to you all. Through this tough ordeal everyone we know from far and wide have been gracious enough to provide us with whatever they can. Whether that just been well wishes and prayers to providing meals and little gifts for Ian. To know that there are so many people out there to care just makes us feel and know how much everyone means to us. I think I can safely speak to Marci when I say that we consider all of you part of our family. To us family means more than just those we are related to through blood and marriage. Family to us means having those that care about you and whom we care about to help support us in times of need all you all have done and shown us over these last number of days.

So once again, I just wanted to thank you all for everything you have provided to use and no amount of thanks can ever show our true appreciation.

Thank you and we love you all.

Keep hanging in there. We love u!! ---Jamie Sherman
